3 Ways The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops Will Influence Your Life
The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He tests and evaluates cleaning equipment, focusing on robot vacuums and mopping combos. These multitaskers can be ideal for those who are looking to eliminate mopping from their list of tasks. Some have great navigation and obstacle avoidance. Others even wash and refill mopping pads themselves for a hands-free cleaning.
The Eufy S1 Pro
If you're looking for a robot vacuum that also mops then this is the model you should go for. It's smaller than other options on this list making it easier to maneuver in tight corners and under furniture. It features a 220-degree Lidar which, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, gives it some of my favorite navigation and object avoidance capabilities I've seen in a robotic vacuum. It has a 4600mAh battery which can last up to 170 mins when cleaning and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can be more efficient when using turbo). It will even return to its dock to recharge its battery during the cleaning.
It's fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room and hallways with only one motion. Its 8,000pa motor is able to pick up dirt hair, pet hair, and poop effortlessly. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects carpets and the double side brush helps to remove debris from corners.
The mopping performance is a little less impressive, but not by much. The mop rotates at a high rate and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scraping away dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arms protrude out slightly more than other robots, which is helpful to get into tight corners and on baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to pick up larger pieces of debris, such as books and toys that have been damaged.
Another good thing is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mop I've tried. It is quieter and doesn't produce as much noise when mopping or vacuuming. The only issue is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform mopping, and is sold separately from the vacuum. It is easy to install and works well. However when you purchase this vacuum solely for mopping it is important to pay attention to this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It has a robust suite of features that make it an ideal option for homeowners looking for an efficient, flexible, and customizable cleaning machine.
The device is equipped with an impressive and powerful cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map your home and detect furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean efficiently and efficiently. This leads to an efficient, consistent clean that is also quite fast.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach many surfaces. robot vacuums best includes corners, baseboards and other hard to reach spots. The side brush can be stretched to reach the floor close to the walls or other fixtures. Additionally the mop pads can be dried and washed to prevent the build-up of dust and reduce the smell.
Another feature worth mentioning is the customization options that are available through apps. The Q Revo allows you to alter the amount of suction, and choose between a back-andforth, or a more randomized pattern. You can also choose the number of passes which determines how fast it can move around your home. You can also deactivate the side brush to prevent damage to carpets and carpets.
This device is expensive but has many smart features. It is important to remember, however, that the device incurs regular expenses, such as mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For example the brushroll should be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad must be replaced every one to three months.
The robot vacuum that mops has an excellent rating on Amazon and offers a wide range of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also comes with a power button which doubles as a 'Clean button' as well as a 'Home button to send it home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically emptys the trash bin, fills up its water tank, and cleans and drys its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a busy professional or someone who just wants an organized home that doesn't require a lot of time on chores then the Shark Matrix Plus is a excellent option. It is a powerful machine with smart navigation, and a long battery life that makes it easy to keep your home clean with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a 2-in-1 mop and vacuum. It is capable of vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot has two modules: a combined dry bin and water reservoir, and a separate mopping module with a microfiber pad that snaps into and out of the way. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping might seem a bit outdated but they're a good thing because you don't have to think about changing bags for disposables or refilling the water tank.
Our test participants discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature was its accurate floorplan map, which it uses to create the path to follow when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by a mop.
We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in removing pet hair. It was able capture some of the hair sheds from our cats. It even made it into the corners and crevices of our stairs where other robots had struggled. It was quiet and had some lovely jingles to indicated when it was starting or completing its task.
The biggest flaws were its lack of sophistication and the necessity to change out the modules whenever switching between vacuuming and mopping. The app cannot store multiple maps. This can be an issue if your home has multiple floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those looking for a smart robot that can perform both mopping and vacuuming.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that can be found in our review, however it has some distinctive features that are worth taking into consideration. The X1 Omni's main draw is its huge dock that serves as the robot's charging base as well as housing for two water tanks, a cleaning sink and a 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically eliminates.
The base also comes with a set of control buttons that allow you to start a cleaning task and then recall the robot or run the dock's auto-emptying process. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents who are concerned about their children playing with the vacuum.
Similar to other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni uses its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
This can cause the X1 to become stuck when it gets caught in an obstacle like the power cable that is draped over a rug. It won't work until you remove it manually. While this was rare however, it was a gruelling experience when it did happen and especially because the X1 Omni does not have an "stuck" status alert in its app.
The X1 Omni is unable to automatically switch from mopping mode to vacuuming mode during a cleaning session. You will need to manually switch between the two, which isn't too bad except for the fact that mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between uses and can cause mildew or mold.

On the positive side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad. It's a huge departure from the utilitarian all-black bases of competitors like Roborock or iRobot. And it's an excellent choice for an industry dominated by boxes.
